Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Certified Welding Inspector II to join our team in Missouri. You will perform and sign visual weld inspections with code-based acceptance/rejection authority, review WPS/PQR, and witness welder qualification tests.

You will direct NDT and prepare repair instructions as required by the project. You will inspect fabrication shops and field erection, including high-strength bolting and base plate grouting where certified, and write clear inspection and

Qualifications

Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with 2+ years inspecting under it.
Working command of AWS D1.1 and at least one of D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104.
ICC structural steel and bolting special inspector certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and sign visual weld inspection with accept/reject authority to the governing code.
Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
Witness welder performance qualification tests.
Direct and interpret nondestructive testing.
Disposition indications and write repair instructions.
Inspect fabrication shops and field erection, including high-strength bolting and base plate grouting where certified.
Write inspection reports and nonconformance reports for the engineer of record and the building official.
