Job description

Job Description Summary:

This is a full-time remote opportunity located anywhere in the United States.

The Senior Customer Solutions Engineer brings creativity, curiosity, and passion to working with our modernization products. They are technically versatile and deliver exceptional customer experiences by:

  • Providing post-sales deployment services for Rocket products.
  • Solving real problems and delivering value to customers and partners daily.
  • Ensuring successful outcomes with speed, quality, and innovation.
  • Taking commitments seriously to customers, partners, and colleagues.
  • Bridging understanding gaps between legacy and modern development technologies for customers.

This role will be part of our IBM System Z professional services team, working on customer engagements to install, configure, implement, and train on IBM Omegamon and other IBM Mainframe products. Candidates must have strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, DB2, CICS, and IMS, with experience in other mainframe monitoring tools as a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical expertise on the OMEGAMON product family.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of Rocket's product line, including new releases and interfaces.
  • Delivering technical presentations and training on Rocket products.
  • Guiding best practices during installation, configuration, and post-implementation support.
  • Reviewing customer implementations for best practices and satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with support, labs, customers, partners, and sales teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Sharing customer feedback for product enhancements.
  • Building credibility across various business and technical resources.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years as Systems Programmer or similar role.
  • 4+ years in development, application lifecycle, or change management.
  • 4+ years in consulting or team leadership.
  • Expertise with OMEGAMON tools and processes, including UI, Tivoli Portal, CICS, DB2, IMS, JVM, networking, and storage.
  • Knowledge of installation and customization processes like PARMGEN and IBM Monitoring Configuration Manager.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 5-15%.
  • Alignment with Rocket's core values of empathy, humanity, trust, and love.
Additional Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Advanced SME skills with z/OS tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, security products, and other z/OS components.
  • Deep knowledge of IBM System Z, z/OS, and related software fundamentals.
