Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is seeking a Customer Design Leader to provide expertise, training and leadership support to the Distribution design team. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and guide engineers in delivering reliable electric facilities.

You will lead design execution, promote customer service excellence, review work plans, and ensure costs and standards are met while communicating effectively across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil or industrial engineering (ABET-accredited) with 6 years utility experience.
• Equivalent: Associate's degree + 6 years utility design or high school diploma + 8 years utility design.
• Registered PE license is a plus

Responsibilities

• Promotes and trains team on distribution standards, policies, and performance.
• Support the development and implementation of work plans with measurable goals and requirements.
• Review planned work and assist in project completion.
• Lead design execution and promote excellent customer service.
• Advise on design, material, and progress to control costs and meet budgets.
• Provide training to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
• Ensure codes, standards, and schedules are met.
