Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Custodian to support cleaning in patient rooms, nursing stations, exam spaces, offices and hallways under supervision. You will operate cleaning equipment and help maintain sanitary environments across multiple areas.

You will also assist in training new custodial personnel, ensure proper use and storage of cleaning solutions, and follow safety protocols to keep areas clean and welcoming for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial or cleaning roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning product storage and handling is required.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow sanitation protocols.

Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor – You will assist in cleaning assigned areas, patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, corridors, public areas, etc. as needed. Responsible for assisting in the training of new personnel.

Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall and window washing, shampoo machines, and floor machines. Sweep, strip, and wax floors. Perform isolation room cleaning. Perform high and low dusting. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using the approved cleaning solutions. Must have knowledge in the correct use and storage of disinfectants, cleaning solutions, soap, detergents, and floor waxes, is preferred.

Salary range: $26.69 - $34.50 / Hourly
