Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Senior Custodian in Los Angeles to perform custodial tasks across patient areas, nursing stations and support spaces. The role runs 7:00am–3:30pm on variable days with rotating weekends, holidays, and indefinite duration.

You’ll operate vacuums, buffers, floor machines, and perform floor care, room cleaning and isolation cleaning under supervision. Salary ranges from $21.05–$27.21 per hour, with AFSCME minimums increasing to at least $25 per hour as of 2025, and a total

Qualifications

• Experience operating custodial cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
• Experience with isolation room cleaning and high/low dusting.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Custodial Supervisor, cleanAssigned areas including patient rooms, nursing stations, exam rooms, conference rooms and offices.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers and floor machines to clean and maintain floors and surfaces.
• Ensure proper cleaning standards and safety practices are followed.

We’d love to have you join us.Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor – Clean assigned areas, patient rooms, nursing station, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, office’s, hallways, corridor, public areas, etc. Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall and window washing, shampoo machines and floor machine. Sweep, strip and wax floors. Perform isolation room cleaning. Perform high and low dusting. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using the approved cleaning solutions. They have knowledge in the correct use and storage of disinfectants, cleaning solution, soap, detergents and floor waxes preferred.

Salary Range: $21.05 – 27.21 / hour

Effective June 22, 2025, employees represented by the AFSCME Union will receive a minimum wage of $25.
