Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Custodian to support cleaning in patient rooms, nursing stations, exam areas, offices, and public spaces, ensuring a safe, sanitary environment and high standards of patient comfort.

You will operate vacuum cleaners, floor machines, buffers and wash equipment, follow disinfectant protocols, perform routine maintenance, and assist in training new personnel to maintain efficiency and teamwork.

Description

Under the supervision of a Custodial Supervisor - You will assist in cleaning assigned areas, patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary rooms, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, offices, hallways, corridors, public areas, etc. as needed. Responsible for assisting in the training of new personnel.

Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall and window washing, shampoo machines, and floor machines. Sweep, strip, and wax floors. Perform isolation room cleaning. Perform high and low dusting. Clean vertical and horizontal surfaces using the approved cleaning solutions. Must have knowledge in the correct use and storage of disinfectants, cleaning solutions, soap, detergents, and floor waxes, is preferred.

Salary range: $26.69 - $34.50 / Hourly

• Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, pressure / steam cleaning machine etc).

Must be able to frequently:

• Bend waist while standing.

• Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
