Job summary

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) in Worcester, MA, is seeking a Maintainer II to perform general janitorial and custodial work across multiple campus buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning, floor maintenance, waste management, room setup for events, and occasional snow removal, with supervision by higher-grade staff.

Ideal candidates will have a valid MA driver's license, ability to follow instructions, physical stamina, and comfort with ladders/scaffolds.

Qualifications

Must possess a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicles Operator's License.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines governing unit activities.
Ability to establish harmonious working relationships and work with others.
Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and lift heavy objects.
Obtain a Food Safety Handler certification within 30 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

Cleans offices, classrooms, corridors, floors, and restrooms using cleaning methods and equipment.
Washes windows and other interior/exterior surfaces; empties trash and maintains cleanliness.
Loads/unloads supplies, moves furniture, and operates cleaning equipment and dollies.
Performs snow removal and winter maintenance as required; sets up rooms for events.
Inspects facilities and reports maintenance needs; maintains records of hours and inventory.
