The Santa Barbara Museum of Art seeks an internationally recognized curator with expertise in 20th- and 21st-century art, with a focus on photography, to lead a program during a period of growth and increased visibility. The successful candidate will manage exhibitions, publications, and acquisitions, collaborate with artists and collectors, and advance fundraising while mentoring staff.

MA in Art History and 5–10 years curatorial experience required; position reports to the Chief Curator, is

Competenze

• MA in Art History or related field required.
• A track record of exhibitions, acquisitions, and publications is essential.
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to meet deadlines.

Mansioni

• Lead annual roster of exhibitions (loan and permanent collection).
• Publish and present research related to the collection.
• Build relationships with collectors, artists, and other nonprofits to benefit the museum.
• Actively engage in fundraising efforts from individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
• Manage curatorial staff and a team supporting exhibitions and acquisitions.
