Job summary

Pilot Company in Houston seeks a Senior Technical Contributor in Energy Technology to design, develop, and support commodity trading, risk management, and retail pricing platforms across on-prem and cloud environments. You will lead complex projects, translate business needs into technical designs, mentor junior developers, and drive modernization with CI/CD, automation, and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of experience in enterprise applications.
Experience with commodity trading, retail pricing, or related apps.
Proven technical leadership on complex projects.
Strong DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud adoption experience in AWS.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support complex enhancements for trading, risk, credit, and pricing apps.
Lead technical projects, provide analysis, design recommendations, and implementation support.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and designs.
Collaborate with stakeholders and multiple tech teams to set priorities and deliver solutions.
Perform production support, root cause analysis, and long-term corrective actions.
Advise on modernization, cloud adoption, automation, and platform reliability.
Help define development standards, testing, and secure coding practices.
Review vendor-delivered solutions and provide ongoing support.
Provide project updates to development manager and manage risks.
Collaborate to mitigate project, operational, and technical risks.
