Job summary

Pilot Company is seeking a senior technical contributor for its Energy Technology space to design, develop, and support commodity trading and risk management platforms, as well as retail pricing applications, in both on-premise and cloud implementations.

This role partners with business stakeholders, technology leaders, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions, with a focus on modernization, DevOps, and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing, supporting, or integrating enterprise applications.
• 5+ years of experience supporting commodity/energy trading, retail pricing, or related applications.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing technical projects, delivery priorities, or production support.
• Advanced ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements, designs, and system changes.
• Strong understanding of incident management, change management, release management, service requests, and production support practices.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more development technologies such as .NET/C#, Java, AngularJS/Angular, SQL, APIs, or integration frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced proficiency with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, DB Maestro, ActiveBatch, or similar tools.
• Advanced proficiency with Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
• Advanced understanding of commodities trading and CTRM/ETRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support complex enhancements for trading, risk management, credit, and pricing apps.
• Serve as a senior technical lead and contributor on complex projects, providing analysis and guidance.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, system designs, integrations, and tasks.
• Partner with stakeholders to define priorities, clarify requirements, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Perform production support activities, including troubleshooting incidents and root cause analysis.
• Advise on modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and platform reliability.
• Help define and improve development standards, reusable patterns, documentation, automated testing, and secure coding practices.
• Support vendor-delivered solutions by performing design reviews, validating deliverables, and providing long-term production support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and mitigate them effectively.
