Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a CT Technologist II to perform advanced CT imaging and support radiologists with high-quality diagnostic studies. You will ensure patient safety, administer contrast, and follow ALARA principles in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include prospective patient screening, image optimization, interventional CT support, and documentation in RIS/EMR while mentoring junior technologists and maintaining equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of clinical experience from an accredited radiologic sciences program.
• 3–5 years of CT technologist experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT imaging procedures with accuracy following established protocols.
• Prepares patients for CT exams, screens for contraindications, and positions patients properly.
• Ensures accurate patient identification and verifies physician orders.
• Explains procedures to patients and provides instructions during and after exams.
• Administers contrast media following safety guidelines and monitors for reactions.
• Uses I-Stat for creatinine testing and calculates GFR when required.
• Assists in interventional CT procedures and ensures patient comfort.
• Responds to emergencies and follows hospital protocols for patient safety.
• Adheres to ALARA and radiation protection standards.
• Performs quality control on CT equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Reviews orders and documents in RIS and EMR.
• Maintains stocked work area and readiness of CT equipment.
• Collaborates to update CT protocols and trains staff.
• Trains CT technologists on protocols and safety standards.
• Serves as mentor and resource for CT staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
