Job summary

Anduril Industries in the United States is seeking a Cyber Engineer for the Air Defense team. You will design and implement cryptographic and platform security for our trusted systems, including FIPS validation, secure boot, and encrypted communications.

This hands-on role requires deep low-level systems experience, mastery of C/C++, Rust, Golang, or Python, and a TS/SCI clearance. You will develop tooling, automate accreditation evidence, and harden Linux, firmware, and edge devices to survive

Qualifications

• Real fluency in C/C++, Rust, Golang, or Python and the ability to read/modify the others.
• 5-8 years of engineering experience with deep ownership of security-critical systems.
• Applied cryptography in practice: implemented or integrated cryptographic libraries and managed keys/entropy.
• Low-level systems depth: Linux kernel, firmware, drivers, or BSPs; able to debug with gdb, ftrace, and logic analyzers.
• Active U.S. Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI with polygraph preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve FIPS 140-3 validated encryption across products and maintain current certification.
• Own the platform trust chain: secure and measured boot, TPM-backed attestation, firmware signing, rollback protection.
• Design and implement full-disk and data-at-rest encryption, key management and rotation, and hierarchies that survive field conditions.
• Build anti-tamper and zeroization mechanisms with tests that prove they work under adversarial conditions.
• Engineer secure communications: TLS/PKI internals, tunneling, and cross-domain or air-gapped transport.
• Build audit and validation tooling and harnesses to prove cryptographic and boot-time behavior.
• Harden Linux, container, and firmware baselines; codify security controls across deployments.
• Automate compliance so it remains aligned with NIST 800-53, STIG, and CNSSI requirements.
