Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Crypto Lead (Scientist) to drive secure system architectures and embedded cryptographic solutions for NSA‑certified products.

You will lead cross‑disciplinary teams, manage certification activities (IASRD/SERD), and ensure secure network design and encryption across architectures. Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in security/systems engineering, NSA certification experience, and a current active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or graduate degree with 10+ years.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Minimum 10 years in security engineering, systems engineering, network engineering, or related technical roles.
• Experience in certification of products to NSA standards (IASRD, SERD).
• Experience in encrypted communications product areas: systems, hardware, firmware, or software.
• Knowledge of secure system design, networks, cybersecurity controls, threat modeling, cryptographic algorithms, and protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze risk and apply security controls balancing security, performance, and reliability.
• Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration across engineering, production, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of secure system architectures, networks, and embedded cryptographic solutions.
• Serve as the primary responsible engineer for NSA certification including IASRD and SERD.
• Guide secure network design, segmentation, encryption, and cybersecurity controls across product architectures.
• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams through requirements, concept, design, integration, verification, and sustainment.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for real-world risk reduction.
• Conduct system performance analysis, arch studies, and reviews under security constraints.
• Mentor engineers across teams, communicating technical direction to stakeholders.
• Prepare and present technical data at reviews, communicating details and architecture decisions.
• Coordinate across systems, hardware, software, firmware, and production teams for integrated secure solutions.
• Support travel up to 20% for stakeholder engagements and on-site support.
