Job summary

KBR is seeking an Enterprise Crypto Security Engineer to join the National Security Solutions team in El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO. The role focuses on cryptographic units for space and ground systems, with emphasis on security, interfaces, and lifecycle management.

Candidates should have TS/SCI clearance, 7+ years in systems engineering and crypto, and experience with NSA certification and KMI. This on-site position offers collaboration with government customers and advancement

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Understanding of systems engineering across the lifecycle phases.
• 7+ years in systems engineering with crypto, cyber security, requirements development, verification, integration and test.
• 7+ years’ crypto, NSA certification processes, and Key Management experience.
• 5+ years’ experience with DoD/IC space and ground systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in development, integration, and delivery of space and ground cryptographic units.
• Lead spacecraft cryptographic unit trade studies and deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership.
• Oversee design, interface definition, development, and delivery of encryption units for ground and space segments.
• Coordinate crypto lifecycle management and ensure integration with mission operations and secure architectures.
• Support all testing activities for encryption units, including verification campaigns and reviews.
• Assist PKMA related activities including secure key management processes and architecture alignment.
• Build and maintain relationships with government customers, contractors, and partners.
• Lead and mentor junior to mid-level engineers on tasks and technical reviews.
• Enforce cryptographic standards across programs and platforms.
