Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Hampton, NH seeks a Senior Cryogenic Characterization Engineer / Lab Lead to drive electrical, thermal, and cryogenic testing for next-generation interconnect products. You will develop test plans, lead qualification programs, and oversee cryogenic test systems to ensure data quality and reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience with cryogenic hardware, strong data analysis skills, and the ability to mentor a cross-functional team across R&D,

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Physics, Materials Science or related field; MS preferred.
• 5+ years of cryogenic testing and interconnect development experience.
• Hands-on with cryogenic systems, cryostats, dilution refrigerators, vacuum systems, or low-temperature test equipment.
• Experience developing and executing electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental characterization testing.
• Strong understanding of cryogenic testing principles: heat transfer, conduction, radiation, temperature measurement.
• Experience with cryogenic RF test equipment such as VNAs, TDRs, multimeters, temp controllers, DAQ systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical, thermal, mechanical, and cryogenic characterization and qualification of Quantum and cryogenic interconnect products.
• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and qualification programs.
• Operate, maintain, and improve cryogenic test systems and laboratory infrastructure.
• Develop and perform electrical and RF characterization using VNAs, TDRs, multimeters, temp controllers, DAQ systems.
• Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and failure mechanisms.
• Mentor engineers and technicians in cryogenic testing and data analysis.
