Collins Aerospace, managed by RTX, is seeking a Senior Cross Product Team Lead onsite in Largo, FL to guide multi-disciplinary teams of system, hardware and software engineers on DoD programs. You will own full lifecycle development from CONOPS to validation and drive design reviews and testing to ensure program success.

You will coordinate with customers and leadership, mentor staff, and ensure rigorous verification and MIL-STD compliance across complex systems.

Qualifications

• Experience on a DoD program in a CPTL/IPTL or engineering team lead role, including CAM
• Experience with DoD systems engineering processes, technical reviews/audits, MIL-STD compliance
• Ability to create verification plans, run test procedures, and manage requirement traceability (e.g., IBM DOORS, Cameo) to ensure system compliance
• Proven systems design activities including specification development and traceability
• Proven IV&V experience including hardware-in-the-loop, software testing, and performance evaluation
• Typically requires STEM degree with 10+ years experience or advanced degree with 7+ years, or 15 years without degree
• Active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship for clearance eligibility
• Knowledge of voice comms, config management, and test/report writing
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools and MBSE models (MBSE)

The Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) team is hiring a Senior Cross Product Team Lead to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. SDS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. In this role, you will play a critical part in the design, development, and integration of products, from concept to production. You will collaborate closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless system performance and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

This position requires: US Government Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance Day 1.

Onsite: This is an onsite role supporting our Largo, FL location.

What YOU will do:

• Organize and lead the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation while collaborating with the customer, subcontractors, and executive leadership
• Organize and lead lab activities including setup, configuration management, and testing
• Ensure Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces utilize a scalable ontology

• Own the preparation, cost, and schedule of Design Reviews as well as Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Extensive Experience on a DoD program as an engineering CPTL/IPTL or engineering team lead role including CAM experience
• Extensive Experience with DoD systems engineering processes, Technical Reviews and Audits, and MIL-STD compliance
• Demonstrated ability to create verification plans, conduct test procedures, and manage requirement traceability matrices (e.g., in IBM DOORS, Cameo) to ensure system compliance
• Proven experience in designing, conducting, and documenting Systems design activities including specification development, traceability
• Proven experience in designing, conducting, and documenting IV&V activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), software testing, and performance evaluation
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience
• A current active and transferrable U.S. Government DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with voice communication systems, including VoIP (Voice over IP) protocols like SIP, RTP and SRTP
• Knowledge of configuration management practices to manage system changes, revisions, and baselines throughout the development lifecycle
• Ability to write comprehensive test reports, discrepancy reports (DRs), and system evaluation reports for customer review
• Hands‑on experience with industry-standard integration and testing tools such as MATLAB, Python, Robot Framework, Selenium WebDriver, Ansible, DOORS, Cameo, or JIRA/Confluence
• Developing and executing requirements verification model in Cameo tool suite
• Experience developing and managing requirements and MBSE model development using UAF
• Knowledge of military specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472) for designing rugged and reliable systems.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
