Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Compliance Specialist for Amazon Global Logistics to oversee daily customs clearance operations for ocean, air, rail, and truck cross-border shipments.

You will audit filings, classify HTS, and advise on regulatory matters to ensure compliant and timely shipments. The role involves developing audit mechanisms, handling regulatory inquiries from CBP and customers, drafting petitions for duty mitigation, and sharing subject matter expertise with origin and destination

Qualifications

• Experience in Trade Compliance or Supply Chain.
• Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience auditing 7501, entry data, PGA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit entry filing, PGA, HTS classification, AD/CV, etc.
• Develop audit initiatives to measure and resolve compliance risks.
• Intake regulatory inquiries (28/29, Liquidated Damages) from CBP and customers.
• Draft petitions or protests for duty mitigation with stakeholders.
• Analyze CBP penalties; determine root cause and corrective action.
• Interpret and implement 19 CFR guidance for customers.
• Submit Duty Drawback entries and maintain SOPs for regulatory changes.
• Educate clients on import restrictions, tariffs and customs matters.
• Own subject matter expertise and share with operations teams in origin/destination.
