Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-career Staff Archaeologist with 3–5 years of CRM field experience in California to join our Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team. This full-time role supports survey, testing, data recovery, and construction monitoring across major utilities and CEQA/Section 106 projects.

You will mentor junior field staff, ensure compliance with Section 106, CEQA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA, and coordinate with project managers and agencies in a collaborative, safety-focused

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CRM field experience in California.
• Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.
• RPA is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key team member on major utilities compliance contracts and projects.
• Support pedestrian surveys, test excavations, data recovery, and construction monitoring.
• Assist in reporting (CEQA/Section 106), tracking, execution, and review of projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, agency representatives, tribal monitors, and crews.
