Job summary

Metric DCX in Houston is seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Lead to run day-to-day operations of data center power and cooling infrastructure, guiding on-site shift teams from utility feeds to racks to keep uptime at the highest standard.

You will own preventive maintenance, manage 24/7 staff, act as incident commander during outages, and ensure safe, compliant change management while mentoring technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent.
• Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician license (Texas) or equivalent trade background.
• Certifications such as CDCP, CDFOM, CDCS, CFM, Uptime Institute ATS/AOS, OSHA 30.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of critical infrastructure across power and cooling systems.
• Manage, schedule, and develop a 24/7 team of engineers and technicians, including coaching and training.
• Own preventive and predictive maintenance programs with full CMMS documentation.
• Act as incident commander during outages and drive RCA and corrective actions to closure.
• Develop and enforce MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for live critical systems.
• Oversee change management, PTW, and LOTO to protect people and uptime.
• Support Level 1-5 commissioning for new builds and expansions, including testing.
• Monitor power, cooling, and capacity trends via EPMS/BMS to forecast and prevent failures.
• Manage vendors/contractors with safety, scope, oversight, and workmanship quality.
• Coach and mentor staff, fostering safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure NEC/NFPA compliance and LOTO practices; familiarity with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, CMMS.
