Job summary

Renasant Bank seeks a CLU Senior Credit Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters for large commercial loans and to produce detailed credit memorandums used for lending decisions.

You will review complex credits, guide underwriting strategy, and collaborate with Relationship Managers to structure loans while ensuring high-quality production and adherence to policies. The role requires training staff and presenting recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of prior Commercial Loan Underwriting Experience or 10 years of Commercial Lending experience.
• Experience in underwriting commercial construction, C&I, and CRE loans.
• Experience in underwriting one or more specialty type loans experience.
• Ability to analyze tax returns and financial statements; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor a team of CLU underwriters for large unsecured loans of $250M+ and secured exposures over $250M.
• Oversee workflow: pre-flights, new and renewal loan requests, annual reviews, and other credit activities.
• Train staff on bank policies and department procedures; provide guidance as subject matter experts.
• Provide feedback to upper management on credit underwriting topics and responsibilities.
• Hire, appraise, and manage performance of underwriting staff; approve timecards and leave.
• Underwrite larger, complex CLU credits and develop lending recommendations.
• Prepare credit information, financial spreads, cash flow analyses, and Credit Memos for decisions.
