Harnham is supporting a leading tech company in hiring a Senior Portfolio Manager to lead credit strategy across their B2B lending portfolio.

This team is building innovative financial products that support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses, offering working capital and payment solutions through an embedded platform. You’ll work within a high-performing global payments function, with a mission to deliver customer-first financial services that are scalable, secure, and trusted.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to define credit risk strategy from the ground up. You’ll manage risk across the customer lifecycle, build scalable decision frameworks, and partner with stakeholders across product, operations, and analytics to shape a best-in-class portfolio management program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own credit strategy across underwriting, monitoring, and recovery
• Define and manage policies and metrics across the credit lifecycle
• Inform automated decisioning systems based on customer data and financials
• Partner with operations on complex or manual credit decisions
• Drive experiments and innovation to improve customer access to capital
• Lead collaboration with internal stakeholders on loss mitigation strategies

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in credit risk management including analytics and strategy (ideally unsecured B2B lending)
• Strong technical proficiency in SQL and Python
• Track record in building and scaling credit risk programs
• Analytical mindset with strong pattern recognition and strategic insight
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills
• Bonus: MBA, CFA, FRM, or similar advanced qualification
