Job summary

Sallie Mae is seeking a Sr. Associate, Credit Risk Analytics to join the 2nd Line of Defense Credit Risk team. This role analyzes credit risk across underwriting, portfolio management, and loss mitigation, and helps design the risk appetite framework and thresholds.

You will develop dashboards in Power BI, write advanced SQL and Python scripts, and partner with business units and regulators to strengthen the risk oversight process.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL coding required.
• Experience in credit analytics or credit risk.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
• Strong foundation in statistics and quantitative methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical review of credit risk across the credit life cycle.
• Develop and monitor credit risk oversight framework and risk metrics.
• Design and implement Power BI dashboards for risk reporting.
• Generate and optimize SQL queries and data extraction scripts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and regulators during portfolio exams.
