Job summary

EarnIn, a pioneer in earned wage access, seeks a Staff Risk Analyst to turn data into insights that drive growth. You’ll own policy optimization for credit limits, forecasting, and risk analytics for our consumer lending platform.

This full-time, remote-friendly role is based in the United States; Mountain View locals may work in-office 2 days a week. You will collaborate with ML, Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate analysis into policy changes.

Qualifications

• Expert in SQL with strong Python for analysis and experimentation.
• Working knowledge of fintech risk fundamentals, including risk strategy development and portfolio monitoring.
• Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests or policy experiments, with ability to translate results into recommendations.
• Comfortable with forecasting or curve-based modeling (cash flow, loss, or usage forecasts).
• Strong communication skills to translate analytics into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own policy optimization for member credit limits, balancing retention, churn, and risk exposure.
• Design, run, and evaluate policy experiments and A/B tests; translate results into policy changes.
• Own forecasting/reporting infrastructure for risk and portfolio performance; keep stakeholders informed.
• Proactively explore data to refine risk management strategies and surface emerging risk trends.
• Define performance metrics and build reports/dashboards to monitor policy and portfolio performance.
• Partner with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate analysis into policy/product changes.
• Collaborate with ML team throughout model development lifecycle and monitor deployed models for drift and retraining needs.
• Understand customer anecdotes and pain points to design risk policy with customer experience in mind.
