Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Credit and Collections Lead to join our Corporate Finance team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will report to the Credit and Collections Supervisor. This position involves ensuring customers remit payments on time, performing credit reviews for new and existing customers, establishing credit lines, and assisting with dispute resolution. You will work closely with the A/R & Cash Applications, Customer Service, and Commercial groups within Stepan.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collections: Ensure customers pay in accordance with payment terms; follow up on past due accounts.
2. Credit Limit Reviews: Review credit lines for existing accounts at set intervals.
3. Dispute Resolution: Investigate deductions to understand reasons and resolve issues by collaborating with customers and internal teams.
4. Internal Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports.
5. New Account Setup: Establish credit lines for new customers.
6. Credit Holds: Identify causes of credit holds and work with relevant teams to resolve them.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years' experience in Credit and Collections.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to success.
• Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and resolve issues.
• Attention to detail and a mindset for continuous improvement.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation:

Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000

The salary range considers skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
