Job summary

The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a growing Houston-based community bank to identify a Senior Credit Analyst. This role targets an experienced credit professional ready to broaden leadership responsibilities and advance toward senior credit leadership.

You will work directly with executive leadership and an Interim Chief Credit Officer to underwrite, monitor asset quality, mentor junior analysts, and help shape underwriting standards for the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial credit experience.
• Community or regional banking background preferred.
• Experience reviewing portfolio quality and asset quality.
• Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Interest in long-term advancement into senior credit leadership.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial loan requests across C&I, CRE, owner-occupied real estate, SBA, marketable securities, and related commercial credits.
• Analyze complex borrower financial statements and cash flow.
• Prepare detailed credit presentations and recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio quality and identify emerging credit risks.
• Participate in loan review, risk rating, and asset quality initiatives.
• Mentor and develop junior credit analysts.
• Assist in developing underwriting standards and credit processes.
• Work closely with executive leadership on overall portfolio management.

The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a growing community bank in Houston, Texas, to identify a Senior Credit Analyst. We know the CEO of this bank personally and have worked with them in the past.

This role is ideal for an experienced commercial credit professional looking to broaden their leadership responsibilities while positioning themselves for future advancement.

Working directly with executive leadership and an experienced Interim Chief Credit Officer, this individual will play a significant role in underwriting, portfolio management, asset quality, and mentoring junior analysts. The right candidate could ultimately progress into the Chief Credit Officer role as the organization continues to grow.

Responsibilities
