U.S. Bank is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Manager to lead and develop a CRE underwriting team, ensuring credit quality, standards, and timely deliverables across the U.S. for developers and investors.

The role blends hands-on credit leadership with people management, enforcing policy compliance, and driving process improvements across relationship management, risk, and loan administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight or more years of commercial banking/lending experience.
• Two or more years of management experience in a commercial credit environment.
• 8+ years of commercial real estate lending experience; underwriting, credit approvals, and portfolio management.
• 5+ years of direct CRE underwriting experience; knowledge of CRE lending products and structures.
• 3+ years of team leadership/management experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of CRE underwriters, including performance management and coaching.
• Oversee core deliverables: new transaction underwriting, portfolio/trend reporting, and sponsor reviews.
• Partner with Relationship Management, Credit Risk, Loan Administration and other stakeholders to align credit packages.
• Improve processes and controls, including templates and pipeline tracking, and communicate risks and priorities.
• Act as senior credit leader; oversee portfolio risk, credit execution, and audits.
