Job summary

Truist in Atlanta seeks an experienced Commercial Real Estate Underwriter to analyze financial statements, perform risk assessments, and structure credit for complex CRE clients. You will collaborate with Relationship Managers, manage a portfolio, and ensure adherence to credit policies and documentation standards.

The role requires strong analytical skills, detailed underwriting, and the ability to coach junior staff while coordinating with legal and credit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of credit principles.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints.
• Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the diligence and underwriting documentation of the most complex and larger credit relationships; coordinate legal documentation through closing and funding.
• Ensure loan agreements align with approval documents and address issues with RM.
• Analyze financial statements/projections and assess client performance and risk mitigants.
• Provide oversight of credit relationship/project performance and portfolio management; monitor industry trends.
• Ensure Credit Process Metrics meet tolerances and manage risk/compliance within portfolio.
• Manage pipeline to timely fulfill client needs and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Serve as client/internal point of contact for portfolio management and site visits if needed.
• Provide expertise in real estate underwriting and market trends knowledge.
• Mentor and coach Analysts and Associates.
