Job summary

Fortrea is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate with ophthalmology or oncology monitoring experience in the Northeast region. The role requires 5+ years in clinical monitoring and 30–50% overnight travel.

You will ensure high-quality site monitoring, patient safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. This remote-friendly position emphasizes strong clinical judgment, collaboration with vendors, and adherence to study protocols.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Clinical Monitoring experience.
• Oncology experience, early phase preferred.
• University or college degree, or certification in a related allied health profession.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of study site monitoring including routine monitoring and close-out of clinical sites, maintenance of study files, conduct of pre-study and initiation visits; liaise with vendors; and other duties, as assigned.
• Responsible for all aspects of site management as prescribed in the project plans
• General On-Site Monitoring
• Ensure the study staff have materials and instructions to safely enter patients into the study
• Ensure informed consent procedures and protocol requirements are adhered to according to regulatory requirements
• Ensure data integrity on Case Report Forms and data collection tools
• Responsible for registry management as prescribed in project plans
• Complete SAE reporting and follow up
• Independently perform CRF review and query resolution
• Assist with training of new employees
• Coordinate designated clinical projects as Local Project Coordinator and may act as a local client contact
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
