Job summary

NVIDIA's HPC Compiler Team is recruiting a Compiler Developer to advance one of the world's leading optimizing compilers for high-performance computing. This role entails designing and implementing features for CPUs and GPUs, collaborating with application teams, and engaging with the open-source community.

Applicants should have a strong background in compiler internals, front-ends, and optimizers, plus 6+ years of production-quality compiler experience and proficiency in C/C++.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience developing production-quality compilers or tools.
  • Strong understanding of compiler internals, front-ends, and optimizers.
  • Proficient in C/C++ with knowledge of parallel architectures and optimizations.

Overview

NVIDIA's HPC Compiler Team is hiring a Compiler Developer to join the team building one of the world's most important optimizing compilers. This role offers a front-row seat to pioneering compiler development in high-performance computing. NVIDIA’s GPUs enable large-scale HPC projects that model real-world phenomena such as weather, climatology, fluid dynamics, and defense. We support real science and scientists worldwide.

What you'll be doing
  • Designing and implementing new features for high-performance CPUs and GPUs
  • Collaborating with application teams to tackle meaningful compilation problems
  • Partnering with team members on projects related to high-performance computing and optimizations
  • Interacting directly with teams in the open source community
What we need to see
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field (Ph.D. or Masters preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years experience developing production-quality compilers or tools or equivalent
  • Proven understanding of compiler internals, front-ends, and optimizers
  • Knowledge of programming fundamentals, especially in C/C++, with a deep understanding of parallel computer architectures and optimizations
Ways to stand out from the crowd
  • Experience with the EDG compiler front end or LLVM is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with C++, OpenMP, and OpenACC standards
  • Genuine passion for compiler development
  • High motivation and strong problem-solving skills
Compensation and benefits

Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, and salaries of similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
