Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead operations at the Howard County Circuit Courthouse in Ellicott City, MD. This on-site role requires balancing safety, efficiency, and budget discipline while driving continuous improvement across maintenance and operations.

The role demands strong leadership, contract management, and hands-on experience with MEP systems, building automation, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent with 10+ years of progressive responsibility.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional groups.
Proficiency with Windows-based software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations and oversee a on-site facilities team at the courthouse.
Develop, manage, and track operating budgets and financial forecasts in line with contract requirements.
Monitor the CMMS system and ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Collaborate with customer and stakeholders to align contractual obligations and operations policies.
Mentor staff and manage performance, hiring, promotions, and recognition.
Provide technical and managerial guidance and read blueprints/as-built drawings.
