Job summary

State of South Carolina's Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services seeks a competent supervisor to direct county operations under the Regional Director. You will oversee human and fiscal resources and help implement Field Services policies across counties.

The role involves strategic planning, staff training, public relations, and ensuring compliance with SC laws. Certification as a Class-1 Law Enforcement officer is required, with experience in probation and parole strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: bachelor’s degree with 15 sem hours in social/behavioral sciences and probation/parole experience.
• Associate’s degree plus 2 years military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.
• High school diploma plus 4 years military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.
• Preferred: 4+ years supervisory experience in criminal justice or related fields.
• Certifications and disciplinary actions are considered during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages all aspects of one or more county operations.
• Manages human resources and fiscal resources within oversight counties.
• Develops and implements Field Services policies, standards, and procedures.
• Participates in long and short term planning to accomplish mission and goals.
• Promotes public relations and maintains professional competence.
