Middlebury College seeks a Senior Counselor to provide psychological counseling and crisis intervention for students and lead outreach activities within the Center for Health and Wellness.

The Senior Counselor will organize group programs, trainings, and workshops to advance outreach goals, build campus partnerships, and reduce mental health stigma while ensuring compliant documentation in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, shared decision-making, and crisis response.
• Proven success in outreach, group programs, or therapeutic modalities beyond one-on-one therapy.
• Experience with multicultural approaches and working with diverse populations.
• Commitment to addressing intersections of identities and health outcomes.
• Collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to support student success.
• Strong knowledge of student developmental stages.

Responsibilities

• Provides psychological counseling and crisis intervention for students, implements assessments and interventions, and consults with staff as needed.
• Organizes outreach activities including group programming, workshops, and trainings to meet outreach goals.
• Builds and maintains relationships with campus partners to foster collaboration and reduce stigma.
• Facilitates trainings for students and employees, including cross-discipline trainings.
• Completes timely documentation in the EHR according to policies.
• Supports leadership with risk, referrals, confidentiality, and crisis management.
• Participates in counselor on-call rotation.
• Provides supervision to pre-licensure interns or student workers.
