Job summary

Old National Bank in Evansville, IN seeks an experienced in-house attorney to advise Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Financial Institutions teams. You will draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements; provide regulatory guidance; and partner with Compliance, Risk and Operations to mitigate legal risk.

The role requires leadership, client-focused service and the ability to manage external counsel.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience practicing law in a legal department or large law firm.
• Bar admission in good standing in one of the footprint states with preference to IL, IN or MN.
• Ability to provide practical business-minded legal advice.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to influence senior leadership.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Financial Institution teams, including research, guidance, documentation, and procedures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements and disclosures.
• Provide legal guidance for product development, new payment technologies and digital banking initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and Operations to develop policies and contract frameworks.
• Respond to inquiries from branches and operations with timely, clear legal guidance.
• Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting commercial banking and payments services.
