Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Business Legal team to negotiate and structure strategic fintech agreements that power our partnerships. You will work with business leaders to close complex, first-of-their-kind transactions and build scalable playbooks that accelerate deal timelines.

You will independently own end-to-end deal execution across multiple transactions, collaborate across BizDev, Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance/Tax, and Compliance, and apply responsible AI

Qualifications

• J.D. with 7+ years of transactional experience in-house or at a leading firm.
• Experience negotiating complex fintech commercial agreements and closing high-stakes deals.
• Ability to own deal execution end-to-end across multiple transactions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven track record building playbooks, templates, and deal frameworks to accelerate velocity.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and structure highly-tailored commercial agreements with strategic partners and sophisticated counterparties in fintech/tech.
• Drive novel agreement frameworks for product partnerships while balancing risk and business flexibility.
• Partner with BD, Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance/Tax, and Compliance to close complex deals on accelerated timelines.
• Build commercial playbooks, templates, and scalable strategies to reduce deal cycle times.
• Advise leaders on transactional and product roadmap implications, identifying risks and proposing solutions.
