Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. seeks a senior in-house transactional attorney to structure and negotiate complex fintech agreements. Lead end-to-end deal execution, build scalable playbooks, and provide cross-functional legal guidance that protects Coinbase’s interests while enabling rapid business growth.

You’ll collaborate with Business Development, Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance/Tax, and Compliance, and responsibly apply AI to improve workflow efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications

• J.D. (or applicable equivalent) with 7+ years of relevant transactional experience in-house or at a leading law firm.
• Experience negotiating fintech commercial agreements and closing high-stakes deals.
• Ability to own deal execution end-to-end with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience building scalable legal processes (playbooks, templates).
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and structure highly-tailored commercial agreements with strategic partners and sophisticated counterparties in fintech and technology.
• Drive novel agreement frameworks for product partnerships and provide practical, risk-balanced legal guidance.
• Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance/Tax, and Compliance to close complex deals.
• Build commercial playbooks, templates, and scaled strategies to reduce deal cycle times.
• Advise business leaders on transactional and product roadmap implications and structure solutions that align with commercial objectives.
