Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Maintain licensure to practice law in the State of Ohio.
5 years of legal experience in research and innovation transactions in academic medical centers, research institutions, healthcare systems, life sciences, or major law firms.
Demonstrated experience negotiating complex agreements in high-volume environments.
Expertise in federal sponsored research and grants regulation; research compliance; government contracts; academic medicine or health system affiliations.

Responsibilities

Lead as the primary attorney on complex research agreements including sponsored research, clinical trial, collaboration, data use, MTAs, and CDAs.
Negotiate sophisticated contracts and manage high-risk issues with independence.
Advise on transaction structures balancing research integrity, compliance, IP, and institutional risk.
Develop/templates/playbooks/workflows for research contracting; train investigators and research admins.
