Job summary

Clearway Energy Group in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Counsel to advise management and project teams across wind, solar, storage, and gas segments. This hybrid role may operate from Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, or Scottsdale offices, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel.

The position emphasizes project documents, financing structures, acquisitions, and external counsel supervision, with significant regulatory and litigation support. 3+ years in complex commercial matters is preferred.

Qualifications

• JD and a license to practice law are required.
• 3+ years of relevant attorney experience in law firm or in-house
• Experience with project finance and development matters in wind/solar/storage/gas projects
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage priorities under multiple sources
• Strong ability to review complex information, articulate risk and recommendations
• Thrives in entrepreneurial, fast-paced, collaborative environments

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, draft, and negotiate project documents (e.g., power purchase agreements)
• Review, interpret, draft, and negotiate financing documents (tax equity, debt, cash equity)
• Represent the company in acquisitions and dispositions
• Supervise outside counsel as needed
• Advise on regulatory issues and asset management concerns
• Support litigation management and dispute resolution processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve contracting processes and tools
• Work cross-functionally with practice groups to guide a project through its lifecycle
