Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy is seeking a Senior Counsel (P4) to join its legal team. The attorney will guide real estate, permitting, EPC contracting, project development and financing across the lifecycle of large-scale renewables, advising business stakeholders on complex legal and risk matters.

This is an in-office role with at least three days on-site in Dallas and hybrid flexibility for two remote days. Requirements include a JD, active U.S.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of legal experience in construction, real estate, or renewable energy transactions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, with a drive for results.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex transactions and advise business leaders on legal and commercial risk.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated matters, balance competing priorities, and exercise sound legal and business judgment with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead legal strategy for real estate, permitting, and development across project lifecycles.
  • Provide EPC contracting and procurement contract support, risk allocation, and dispute guidance.
  • Support project acquisitions, financings, and dispositions with business stakeholders and outside counsel.
