Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Legal Department seeks a Senior Counsel, Transactions, focused on real estate development and planning, to join the Real Estate Development Division in New York City.

JD with New York bar and at least five years of relevant experience in complex real estate transactions is required; experience with development, land use, and financing is highly valued. Telework is available one day per week, with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and NY bar admission.
• Minimum five years' relevant legal experience.
• Experience with real estate development transactions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on real estate development transactions and related agreements.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate real estate transaction documents.
• Lead due diligence reviews and manage complex negotiations.
• Advise senior management on legal and policy issues.
