Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Counsel I, II, or III in the Real Estate Development Division to oversee real estate and transactional matters, including structuring, drafting, negotiating, and executing real estate transaction documents to monetize property assets and partner with private developers and municipalities.

The role requires NY JD and at least five years of related experience, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work with senior

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school and NY license to practice.
Minimum of five years of relevant law firm, public sector, or in-house experience.
Experience with sophisticated real estate development transactions and related financing.

Responsibilities

Represent the MTA in real estate and transactional matters, contracts, and related documentation.
Provide qualified legal counsel, risk management, and compliance guidance.
Lead negotiations, advise senior management, and supervise junior attorneys as needed.
Draft and review complex agreements and coordinate with multiple divisions.
