Job summary

Okta is recruiting a Corporate Counsel to lead frontline legal counseling for its Public Sector and Regulated Products. You will partner with business and technology teams to guide development and implementation of Public Sector solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance and scalable operations.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of legal practice with focus on U.S. Public Sector and Regulated Products.
• Military Judge Advocate and U.S. Federal Civilian service attorney advisor experience is a plus.
• Tech fluency with IT products and SaaS models.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Federal, state, and local regulations impacting tech.
• J.D. from a reputable school and active Bar admission; undergrad in a technical field is a plus.
• Self-starter mentality; able to handle issues of first impression.
• Agility to maintain high standards in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end legal support for Okta’s Public Sector teams, focusing on Regulated Products and Services.
• Act as the SME on emerging cloud service policies, educating internal teams on shifting regulations.
• Partner with cross-functional legal counsel to ensure products meet rigorous U.S. and international regulatory standards.
• Embed with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Security teams to navigate authorization processes (e.g., FedRAMP) from conception to launch.
