Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Senior Assistant General Counsel to represent CPS in state court and administrative forums. You will supervise the State Court Litigation team and advise CPS leadership on policy decisions and resource allocation.

The role emphasizes managing personal injury, torts, contract claims, and employment matters with strong leadership and client counseling across CPS schools and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed and authorized to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active litigation caseload and exercise independent judgment on complex issues.
• Provide supervision and guidance to assistant general counsels and staff.
• Provide client counseling and support across CPS departments.
