Job summary

NCQA is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Programs and Privacy in Washington, DC to serve as Privacy Official and senior advisor on privacy, healthcare regulatory matters, data governance, and evaluation programs. Translate complex requirements into practical guidance and partner with senior leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in good standing.
• Approximately 7–10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience advising on healthcare law, privacy, regulatory compliance, data governance, research, or related matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating legal agreements.
• Ability to provide practical legal advice to business leaders and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Privacy, HIPAA, data governance and technology guidance for privacy, data protection, governance, and regulatory developments.
• Advise on healthcare regulatory, evaluation program, product, customer-facing, and operational matters.
• Provide program integrity advice on standards, accreditation, recognition processes, and related procedures.
• Support research compliance, IRB processes and responsible data use.
• Partner with risk, compliance, investigations and litigation teams on enterprise risk and governance matters.
