Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced transactional attorney to serve as Lead Counsel for payments partnerships, supporting its expanding payments and financial services initiatives across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads, WhatsApp, Muse, and Reality Labs. You will draft and negotiate strategic payments agreements and advise on regulatory risks.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited institution.
• Active U.S. bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of legal practice experience.
• Experience advising on payments law and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with financial institutions or payment networks.
• Experience managing multiple deals with tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and strategic advice to Payments and Financial Integrity Partnerships.
• Serve as legal subject matter expert on payments and financial services.
• Draft, negotiate, and close complex payments and financial services agreements.
• Identify legal risks in payments transactions and propose mitigations.
• Advise on privacy and data sharing considerations with external partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Meta and outside counsel.
• Manage numerous deals and meet tight deadlines, with extended hours when needed.
• Travel as required.
