Job summary

Paramount Global seeks a seasoned attorney to support the U.S. Distribution group within its Law Department. You will draft, review, and negotiate distribution agreements across linear, VOD, streaming platforms, handling complex, high-value deals with minimal oversight.

You will provide strategic counsel on media, IP, regulatory and business affairs, mentor junior attorneys, and coordinate with cross-functional teams and executives to advance Paramount’s distribution initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of contract and general corporate law.
• Ability to independently evaluate, structure, and draft complex agreements.
• Ability to distill information for clients.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to independently negotiate agreements with third parties, including complex or high-stakes matters.
• Ability to work closely with and maintain positive relationships with Paramount personnel.
• J.D.
• Approximately 8 years of law firm and/or relevant in-house experience.
• New York State Bar membership and/or qualified to register as NY In-House Counsel.
• Knowledge of media, intellectual property, communications, technology and/or internet law and FCC regulation is preferred.
• Applicable experience in the television, streaming and/or other digital media industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the U.S. Distribution group within Paramount’s Law Department.
• Draft, review, and negotiate distribution agreements arising from Paramount’s programming services and content.
• Handle agreements involving cable and satellite television, internet/OTT, connected devices, and integrated streaming platforms.
• Focus on linear, VOD, and streaming distribution agreements.
• Lead and manage complex, high-value negotiations with minimal oversight.
• Provide advice and counsel on legal and business affairs matters.
• Monitor contractual and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with departmental and administrative functions and assignments.
• Interact with Partnerships, Deal Finance, Strategy, attorneys supporting other client groups, and Paramount executives.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and work-product review to junior attorneys.
• Support and advise senior leadership as needed.
