Job summary

ADM is seeking a Senior Counsel, Litigation: Premises Liability, Mass Tort in Decatur or Chicago, IL. This exempt role reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Litigation and focuses on insured litigation including general liability, premises liability, mass tort, and other personal injury and property damage matters.

The Senior Counsel will oversee significant litigation dockets, manage disputes, coordinate with outside counsel, and report risks and reserves through the company’s financial

Qualifications

• Illinois licensed attorney with at least five years’ litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex litigation and disputes, with focus on insured litigation.
• Familiarity with insurance coverage for claims, including reserving and reporting requirements.
• Outstanding advocacy, presentation, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships and positively influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a significant litigation docket of active cases.
• Handle disputes in a proactive manner and mitigate risks.
• Select and manage outside counsel efficiently while maximizing value.
• Report on litigation risk and reserves as part of financial disclosure.
