AMS Staffing Inc. is assisting a highly regarded law firm in Tysons Corner, VA, or Bethesda, MD, seeking a Counsel or Junior Partner to lead a Commercial Litigation practice.

The ideal candidate will bring a portable book of business around $200,000 and will oversee associates, provide strategic guidance, and work with partners on complex disputes while expanding client relationships.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar admission in Virginia, Maryland, or DC (or ability to practice).
• Significant experience handling sophisticated commercial litigation.
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, writing, and client management skills.
• Strong business development mindset to cultivate client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Handle sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop litigation strategy, oversee discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, trial preparation, and appeals as needed.
• Manage and expand an existing client portfolio while fostering long-term client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor associate attorneys, providing strategic oversight and case management.
• Assume responsibility for existing firm matters and collaborate with partners on complex litigation.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business clients on litigation risk and dispute resolution.
• Participate in business development and cross-selling opportunities across the firm's practice groups.
