Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Counsel, Network & Infrastructure Commercial Transactions to partner with multiple teams on complex commercial matters underpinning Akamai's cloud and network platform. You will draft and negotiate data center leases, bandwidth, and HW/SW procurement agreements while guiding risk, indemnification, and data security considerations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• 8 years of legal practice with experience in technology, cloud, and network infrastructure issues.
• Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Experience handling global clients and international regulatory issues related to cloud services and networks.

Responsibilities

• Advising business, procurement, and engineering teams on complex commercial contracting and infrastructure matters.
• Drafting, review, and negotiation of data center leases, colocation, bandwidth, interconnection, and hardware/software procurement agreements.
• Identifying and advising on infrastructure transaction risks, including liability, indemnification, data security, and compliance.
• Developing and maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation positions.
• Supporting strategic supplier relationships, including managing interpretations, renewals, amendments, escalations, and disputes.
• Providing practical, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders on strategy, contracting processes, and risk management.
• Monitoring legal and market developments related to network infrastructure and technology transactions.
• Providing legal support to the business in other commercial transactions as needed.
