Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Counsel, Network & Infrastructure Commercial Transactions to partner with cross-functional teams and shape strategic legal counsel for global infrastructure initiatives.

You will advise on complex procurement and technology agreements, including data center leases, colocation, bandwidth and related services, while managing risk, templates, and negotiations across geographies, with a focus on scalable, compliant cloud and network solutions.

Qualifications

• Have a JD from an accredited law school and admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• Have 8 years of legal practice with technology, cloud, and network infrastructure experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Experience with global clients and international regulatory issues related to cloud services.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating outside counsel and cross-functional projects in a global tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise business, procurement, and engineering teams on complex contracting and infrastructure matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data center leases, colocation, bandwidth, connectivity, interconnection, and related procurement agreements.
• Identify and advise on infrastructure transaction risks including liability, indemnification, data security, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation positions for infrastructure and procurement.
• Support strategic supplier relationships including managing interpretations, renewals, amendments, and disputes.
• Provide business-oriented legal advice on transaction strategy, contracting processes, and risk management for global infrastructure.
• Monitor legal and market developments relevant to network infrastructure and related technology transactions.
• Provide legal support to the business in other commercial transactions as needed.
