Job summary

Videojet, a Veralto company, seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel to lead a broad portfolio of legal matters across commercial, regulatory, and compliance areas. You will partner with senior leaders, set strategy, and handle complex matters with practical legal guidance.

The role requires travel to the Wood Dale, Illinois HQ and periodic coordination with Veralto counsel. You will negotiate and draft complex agreements, advise on product liability, IP, data privacy, and employment

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. state bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Demonstrated experience providing in-house legal counsel across multiple practice areas, including contracts, litigation, labor and employment, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel and handle complex, multi-jurisdictional legal matters.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and open innovation transactions from due diligence through close.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to translate legal risk into practical guidance.
• Flexibility to occasionally accommodate other time zones and travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical counsel across commercial, regulatory, compliance, litigation, and employment matters.
• Own and drive legal strategy and execution for assigned business units.
• Lead complex legal matters directly and leverage outside counsel when appropriate.
• Build scalable legal processes, policies, and tools for efficiency across multiple videojet units.
• Negotiate, draft, and review complex commercial agreements to protect Videojet's interests.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and product liability as needed.
• Collaborate with HR, sales, procurement to standardize templates and playbooks.
